My Video Pitch

Learning comment - I found this really useful as it allowed me to get some feedback on my work, to see what i can improve and what i should keep the same. I also gave me more confidence with my idea as i was able to present to people who hadn't heard it in detail and get the fresh perspective on it.

Shot List

Leaning Comment - To help with my filming and planning I decided to create a shot list. I felt it was much more helpful and easy to understand than my story board as it was labelled clearly and I was able to clearly see what I wanted and needed for every shot. This will hopefully help with my organisation of the project.

Test Footage

Learning Comment - before going and shooting my final footage I decided to look at some of my locations and see how well they fitted with my genre and plan for the song. I decided to look places that were easy to access for my actor. I also decided to do a photoshoot before hand allowing me to see what outfits worked and what didn't. Here is some of the footage from the shoot.

Initial Pitch Ideas

Learning Comment - This gave me a good starting point for my music video. It give me a good plan for my ideas. It allowed me start to brainstorm ideas and develop them into an initial plan. This way I would have something to work from when planning my video.

Photoshop 2

Powered by emaze

Learning Comment - Once again I found this task really useful as it gave me the chance to get to play about with other features of Photoshop. Instead of selecting different sections to isolate and layer, I used the whole image. This way I can see how well isolating the sections worked compared with layering the whole image. I was able to see how more effects impacted the image differently. I also got to see how I could put text on the image, as done on album covers (Digipaks). I feel like I have a better understanding of how photoshop is used to create albums and posters, so should be better prepared to do this for my won artist.

Storyboard

Learning Comment - When planning my music video, I decided to create a storyboard. This way I would have an idea as to what I want to film. It also gives me a chance to look and plan my narrative in a bit more detail. However I didn't plan every single shot that I wanted, as I know that plans may change on the day I shoot.

Location

Learning comment  - It was important that my location fitted with my theme, as I needed it to reflect the autumnal theme of my video. It is important that I  am able to get permission to film in my locations. I will have to consider a lot of different aspects about the location and especially the weather and how it will effect my shoot.

Fashion

Leaning Comment - For this task I started to think about the look and brand that I wanted to create for my artist. It was important to consider all aspects of fashion including make up and season. It is very important that the fashion matches the genre of the music and what it conveys to the audience.

Genre Research

Learning comment - I found this really useful to look at how each video in the genre was similar and different. It is clear how each artist, despite their similarities was able to come up with a unique approach to presenting music videos. However they are also really similar in certain aspects, due to attempting to keep with in the boundaries of the genre. It has given me a better idea about what the codes and conventions are for my genre and what I need to include in my video.

Mood Board

Learning Comment - I decided to create a mood board for my project. This way I would be able to stick to my key themes and refer to it when I am stuck for ideas. I believe that this will be really helpful when planing my story board and other ideas for my project. This is because then I won't divert away from the key themes of my video, allowing me to have a more focused project.
